Hi, it’s me Blanche and my pet parent Mama Marlene. It’s also 2024, which is a new year with the same old depressing lawlessness. However, we are here to brighten your day with our picks for best in show(s) 2023, and we don’t mean dogs. We serve up part 2 of the year in non-fiction doo-doo: scintillating podcasts about real scandals, scams, slays, and such. Our hook is that the whole kit cat and kaboodle — as in, our signature true crime countdown list — showcases canines!

Whether they are wrongdoers, wrongfully accused, or simply wronged, dogs are front, center, and sideways herein. In fact, the most important takeaway is that my superior species is at the forepaw (and back porch) of all top quality audio content offerings of 2023. In other words, our roster contains individual 2023-released podcast episodes, and they still are available for your entertainment or panic attack trigger. The one inescapable aspect of them all, however, is the pup stars. They are everywhere.

Mama and me, well, we bark out part 1 of this top 10, too, and it is here. Today, we present the second go-round (as in, number 2 of 2 articles), but you might consider a visit to the first one first, because FOMO is real, and humans suffer from it. You don’t want to be the runt of your social media attention hound litter! Embrace the pack mentality, and ingest it all. Don’t miss a single opinion from me Blanche (and Mama, but mostly me, because I am an outspoken mutt). So, please read part 1 and part 2, okay?

Welcome to part 2!

5) LOVE MURDER, Episode 180, WAS IT MURDER OR SUICIDE? DOLLY HEARN, JENNIFER CORBIN, DR. BART CORBIN. In spite of being a lover (not a fighter), yellow Lab Sebastian takes an instant, audible, and dramatic dislike to his owner Jenn’s dentist beau Bart Corbin. Unfortunately, Jenn sheds dog and not dude. It leads to her demise. For the full scoop on Sebastian’s justifiable fears, read the Ann Rule non-fiction tour de force TOO LATE TO SAY GOODBYE, or ask your Mama to read it to you before beddy-bye. That’s what I always do.

4) CINCINNATI’S CRIME VAULT: BEYOND THE BROADCAST, Season 2, Episode 14, THE EXECUTION-STYLE KILLING OF A VET AND HIS DOGS. Way back in 2000, Proctor and Gamble animal-testing…
