Autism in Entertainment gains an ally in Rob Kutner

A funny thing happened on the way to the Autism in Entertainment Conference. The cause accidentally attracted an accomplished and hilarious Hollywood comedy writer named Rob Kutner.
Kutner’s clever turns of phrase have graced the famously gaping maws of Conan O’Brien, Dennis Miller, Angry Birds, and other characters, both real and imagined. His humor books, such as SNOT GOBLINS and LOOK OUT FOR THE LITTLE GUY, have caused readers to convulse with laughter. On the subject of neurodivergent employment, however, he has become serious and seriously devoted. Since the April 5 Skirball Center gathering, Kutner has served as a message-spreading and inclusive-hiring machine.
Kutner recently elaborated on his newfound advocacy in a brief but candid interview with Autism in Entertainment headquarters.
Autism in Entertainment: What is your relationship with neurodivergence and/or autism? Are any of your family members, friends, or colleagues on the spectrum?
Rob Kutner: I have a family member with Asperger’s, and I have some friends on the spectrum.
